Gurugram: In a road incident here, a 37-year-old driver of a minibus was allegedly beaten to death by four men after the bus hit his car here. Police gave this information on Monday.

He told that this incident happened on Sohna Road here on Sunday evening.

The accused, who badly assaulted the driver, managed to escape from the spot.

Police said that a case of murder has been registered at Sadar police station against the accused who fled from the spot after allegedly attacking Deendayal alias Dinu, a resident of Mangolpuri, Delhi.

According to the police, the accident happened around 6 pm when Deendayal was going towards Rajiv Chowk in a minibus and it collided with a car.

Four people immediately came out of the car, stopped the minibus and confronted the driver, he said.

Over the next 10 minutes, when a crowd gathered and stood watching, the people allegedly assaulted the driver and fled in their car after seeing the police team arriving at the spot, he said.

Police said that the injured driver was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

According to the complaint lodged by the deceased's brother Mukesh, the owner of the mini bus informed his mother late in the evening that Deendayal had hit a car with the bus.

Mukesh said in his complaint, "After some time, my mother called my brother's mobile number and the call was received by a policeman who said that he was beaten by some people and died during treatment in the hospital. "My brother was murdered by unknown people." ,

Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered under sections 302 (murder), 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code against unknown accused at Sadar police station.

Inspector Arjun Dev, in-charge of Sadar police station, said that after the post-mortem today, the body was handed over to the family on Monday and raids are being conducted to arrest the accused.
