New Delhi: Guar seed prices on Monday rose by Rs 4 to Rs 5,433 per 10 quintal in futures trade after speculators increased their positions following a firm trend in the spot market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar seed contracts for April delivery rose Rs 4, or 0.07 per cent, to Rs 5,433 per 10 quintal with an open interest of 2,245 lots.

According to market sources, a firm trend in the spot market and less supply from growing sectors as speculators increased bets, mainly led to the rise in gua seed prices.
