New Delhi, Noida-based Gruner Renewable Energy on Tuesday said the company has recently received several projects worth Rs 1,500 crore for compressed biogas (CBG) plants across the country.

Gruner will develop CBG plants worth Rs 1,500 crore across India, which will collectively contribute to the annual production of over 88,000 tonnes of compressed biogas for the Indian market, a company statement said.

It said these projects are strategically located in various cities, including Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh), Satna (Madhya Pradesh), Balasore (Orissa), Navsar (Gujarat), Yavatmal (Maharashtra), Vijayawada and Rajahmundry (Andhra Pradesh). ) and others. ,

Gruner secured 11 projects worth Rs 1,100 crore from India's leading business groups, and another 19 projects worth Rs 400 crore from individual business leaders.

For the smooth operation of these projects, Gruner will add approximately 90 professionals and skilled workers, taking the total headcount including site workers to 2,50 by the next quarter.

They will be deployed at various locations including corporate offices in Noida, Delhi NCR.

"By leveraging our existing orders, we aim to reduce India's total expenditure on crude oil imports by Rs 8 billion (Rs 800 crore)," said Utkarsh Gupta, founder and CEO of Gruner Renewable Energy.

The company, which began its operations last year in February 2023, currently oversees a portfolio comprising 30 ongoing projects across the country.

With a visionary approach, the company aims to increase its project count to 100, aiming to take the value of new orders to Rs 5,000 crore by the end of the current financial year.
