The contract worth US$16.6 million was signed in Bangladesh capital Dhaka earlier this week for the supply of state-of-the-art trailing suction hopper dredgers to BIWTA, the GRSE official said.

He said the 58.70 meter long dredger with a speed of 10 knots will have better flexibility and adaptability to diverse sea conditions.

The GRSE official said the shipyard is also executing an order for construction of six patrol boats for the Sustainable Coastal and Marine Fisheries Project under the Department of Fisheries of the Government of Bangladesh.
