Continuing its campaign, the task force team of Food Safety Commissioner Telangana found unhygienic conditions, improper storage practices and other violations during the inspection.

The team found flour heavily infested with black beetles during its inspection at Rayalaseema Ruchulu in Lakdikapul area. It destroyed 20 kilograms of flour and two kilograms of tamarind, which were infested with insects. The task force also found Amul Gold milk expired and threw it away.

Food inspectors also seized 168 bottles of Goli soda worth Rs 16,000 without manufacturing license.Unlabelled cashew and jowar rotis worth Rs 11,000 were discarded.

He found that vegetarian and non-vegetarian food items were being stored together. There were also hygiene issues such as blocked drains and open windows in the kitchen area.

At Shah Ghaus, a popular restaurant, the task force found unlabelled finished/semi-finished items in storage. Medical records of the food handlers were unavailable.The team found frozen water in the hotel. The inspector collected statutory samples and sent them to the laboratory for analysis.

At Kamat Hotel in Khairatabad, food inspectors seized packets of unlabelled noodles and tea powder worth Rs. 25,000. Food handlers found without Medica Fitness Certificate and haircap/gloves

During inspection at Sukha Sagar Veg Restaurant, the team found JK Butto mushroom packets without manufacturing and use dates and they were destroyed on the spot. It was also observed that there were fragments of plastering spread over the ceiling and wall area, while the kitchen premises had no isolation from the outside environment.Earlier, the task force team had also inspected Ameerpet metro station outlets. At Ratnadeep retail store, he found 15 Cadbury Bournville Dar chocolates leaking from sealed packs, they were confiscated and samples were collected for analysis.

At Jumbo King Burger, food inspectors found that the eatery was running with registration instead of applicable license which is against FSSAI rules. It was also not using TPC meters to check the quality of reused oil. The unlabeled cheese patty was removed.The team also found water logging and open dustbins.

At the five star food court, the team found that the quality of reused oil was not being monitored through TPC meters. Hygiene issues were found with open dustbins and no hair-caps/gloves.

Welcoming the intensified checking of eateries by food safety officials, many social media users have urged them not to stop until violators either fall in line or shut down the eateries.
