Gros Islet [St Lucia], Ahead of their final league stage clash against Scotland at the World Cup 2024, Australian cricketer Matthew Wade said players like Cameron Green and Ashton Agar could play a role for the team in the marquee event.

Australia are currently placed on top of Group B. They have already qualified for the Super 8 stage and will be hoping to remain unbeaten in the next stage as they clash with Scotland at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St. Lucia on Sunday.

“I am not sure whether the 11 players will get rest or not.We haven't been in this situation before, so I'm sure it will be talked about so that maybe the players can get some games. Maybe Green and if those guys can play a role as the tournament progresses, yes, I'm sure there will be talk about whether guys pull the trigger and go for it or not, I'm not sure. But I guess we'll wait and see tomorrow," Wade said in the pre-match press conference.

The left-handed batsman further said that number four is the toughest position to bat in T20 cricket because you are not in the power play all the time.

"I think number four is the toughest position to bat in T20 cricket. You're not in the power play all the time, but sometimes you can be in the power play, and then you have to negotiate the spin from 7 to 15. So, I think number four is the toughest position in T20, and I think you see most of the really good teams, they have positions that can play spin well and in between In some parts, I definitely think that's probably the toughest position for the team," the wicketkeeper said.Squad:
