Singapore, Indian-origin Singaporean actor Mathi Alagan says working in Dev Patel's directorial debut "Monke Man" was an "incredible opportunity".

Inspired by the legend of Lord Hanuman, "Monkey Man" is set in Mumbai, featuring Patel as a child who is out to avenge a past mistake.

Alagan expressed his gratitude to Patel, the star of the multiple Oscar-winning film "Slumdog Millionaire" as well as films like "hotel Mumbai", "The Persona History of David Copperfield" and "The Green Knight".

Ecto, 59, wrote, "Grateful beyond words for the incredible opportunity to be a part of Monkee Man directed by a true legend in the industry. Working with Dev Patel is an absolute honor and a masterclass in itself." Instagram on Sunday.

Alagan, who has a small role as an arms dealer in "Monkey Man", also shared a clip of his scene from the film, which was released in Singapore last week.

"His and his team's vision, dedication and passion for storytelling have left an indelible impression on me. It has been a journey of learning, growth and immense joy. Thank you for trusting me with a role in your creation. Grateful that the world is witness to this." The magic we have created as a team,” he added in the post.

In Singapore, the actor has starred in the local television series "Tanglin" (201 to 2018) and the legal drama "Code of Law" (2012 to 2020).
