Mumbai, An official resolution issued by the Maharashtra government states that the annual family income of the beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana should not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh.

The scheme, which was announced by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in the state budget presented in the Assembly on Friday, is aimed at married, divorced and destitute women in the age group of 21-60, who will receive Rs 1,500 per month.

According to the GR dated June 28, the beneficiary woman should have a bank account in her name, Aadhaar/Ration card and state residence.

"The beneficiary must obtain an income certificate (annual family income norm) of Rs 2.5 lakh from the competent authority. They can apply online. Anganwadi Sevika/Gram Sevak will accept the online form, verify and upload it on the portal in rural areas Anganwadi workers and ward officers of the urban area will look into this.

"The final approval will be given by a committee headed by the District Collector. Those who cannot fill the online form will be helped by Anganwadi Sevika. Those who are connected with any government machinery, or are availing government pension or have received a pension of Rs 1500 or more. Those receiving more amount from any other government scheme will not be eligible,” the GR said.

An official said that the GR was issued after the cabinet meeting on Friday after the budget announcement.
