New Delhi, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS) has started a two-month-long comprehensive awareness campaign titled 'Swachh Gaon, Shudh Jal - Behtar Kal', according to a statement issued here on Friday.

This campaign aims to promote safe water and sanitation practices at the village and panchayat levels, complementing the National STOP Diarrhea Campaign, it said.

The STOP campaign, launched by Union Health Minister JP Nadda on June 24, aims to achieve zero child deaths due to diarrhea through a multi-sectoral approach: strengthening health infrastructure, improving access to safe drinking water and sanitation, improving nutritional programs and promoting hygiene education.

In the statement, Jal Shakti Union Minister CR Paatil highlighted the importance of this collaboration and said, "The synergy between the rural sanitation mission and the National STOP Diarrhea Campaign underlines our unwavering dedication to public health Through these concerted efforts, we are not only aiming to reduce child mortality but also to foster a culture of health and hygiene in rural India.
