Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday inaugurated the two-day 'Maitri' program of Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) Alumni (Decade Chapter of 90s) in Shimla, in which the international program Also started. Chapter of 'Friendship'.

Recalling his university days, CM Sukhu stressed on their role in shaping his political career.

In his address, CM Sukhu assured that the state government will explore the possibilities of holding Students Central Association (SCA) elections in HPU, with ongoing discussions with the university authorities.

He stressed on the efforts of the government to make Himachal Pradesh self-reliant and increase the quality of education in government institutions. Key initiatives include starting English medium education from class one and phased establishment of Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding Schools in all 68 assembly constituencies, aimed at providing state-of-the-art facilities to students.

The Chief Minister highlighted the plan to innovate in the higher education sector with modern teaching techniques while ensuring maximum benefits for every student.
