In his speech on the motion moved by treasury bench members on agriculture and related issues, LoP Wadettiwar criticized the state government over rising cases of farmer suicides, saying providing free electricity up to 7.5 horse power would not be enough. Agricultural Pump.
The opposition leader said, "The government should waive off the arrears of electricity bills paid by farmers."
He said that farmers are ruined due to lack of guarantee from the central and state governments.
“Due to the cruel nature and government fraud, farmers have been crushed, leading to a sharp increase in farmer suicides. Farmers are also affected by export restrictions, lack of minimum support price, increasing debt burden, fraud by crop insurance companies, increased rates of fertilizers, seeds, farm equipment and inflation,” said LOP Wadettiwar.
He said that the government should come out of the election campaign and publicity mode and take decisions to help the farmers on priority basis.
LOP Wadettiwar claimed that despite the government announcing minimum support price to farmers, it is not purchasing agricultural produce by paying MSP.
He said the 18 percent GST on agricultural inputs had created further difficulties for the farming community.
He alleged that fake seeds were being sold on a large scale in the state and demanded immediate action from the government.
