New Delhi, government and industry officials will hold detailed discussions on ways to further boost domestic manufacturing and toy exports on July 8, an official said.

The meeting is organized by Invest India, a branch of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), in collaboration with the Toy Association of India.

Key topics that would feature at the meeting include growing opportunities and regulatory developments in the toy sector to chart a way forward; making India a global toy hub; and ways to integrate Indian toy makers into the global supply chain.

Toy Association of India senior vice-president Naresh Kumar Gautam said the government has already taken a number of measures to boost the growth of the sector.

To showcase the domestic products, an international fair is being organized from July 6 to 9 here at Pragati Maidan where more than 150 foreign buyers from 35 countries will visit.

More than 400 domestic toy manufacturers will showcase their innovative products, Gautam said, adding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned the sector in one of his 'Mann ki Baat' programs and that gave an additional impetus to boost the growth of this hand of construction site. intensive segment.

He also suggested that the government extend fiscal support measures to stagnation holders.

He added that the 'Toy Industry CEOs Meeting' on July 8 will be attended by senior officials from DPIIT, Invest India and the domestic industry.

Toy exports have increased by 240 percent since 2014 and imports decreased by 52 percent during the period.

He added that there are huge opportunities for women and, according to estimates, around 70 per cent of the workforce are women.

Furthermore, he said that construction work has been started for the development of a large toy cluster in Noida.
