Chandigarh: Questioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi's meditation at the Rock Memorial from May 30 to June 1, Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal on Wednesday said it is good if he is going to Kanyakumari for atonement.

"How can a person meditate who does not understand the meaning of prudence?"

Sibal said, "If he is going for 'atonement', that is a good thing or if he will not take inspiration from the writings and speeches of Swami Vivekananda, that is also a good thing."

The Prime Minister will meditate from the evening of May 30 to June 1 at the Dhyana Mandapam, the place where Vivekananda, a spiritual icon admired by PM Modi, is believed to have received a divine vision about 'Bharat Mata' , the BJ leader said on Tuesday.

Sibal alleged that the BJP-led government at the Center does not talk about its achievements as it has "nothing to show".

"What has he done in the last 10 years? Has the Prime Minister in his speeches said what he has done during the 10 years? What are his achievements?" Siba said at a press conference here.

Sibal also criticized PM Modi for his 'mujra' remark against the opposition leader, saying if he had any achievements to show, he would not have been talking about 'mujra, mangalsutra...vote jihad'. .Sibal alleged that the BJP had "failed" to fulfill the promises on the basis of which it had come to power.

"That's why they talk about 'Mujra, 'Mangalsutra', votebank politics, vote jihad... They say the Bharat group will snatch money from water taps, banks..." H said .

Sibal said that before coming to power, PM Modi used to give 'big speeches'.

"He used to tell people that he gave 60 years to Congress and give them 6 months and he will give a 'New India'. Now after 120 months (10 years), what 'New India' has he given?" He asked.Supporting Congress' Lok Sabha candidate Manish Tewari, who is contesting from the Chandigarh parliamentary seat, Sibal said, "Chandigarh is my hometown and I have studied here. I want people to elect a person who understands how Parliament runs." , who has a point of view." Who understands today's politics and I am deeply committed to the interests of the people."

He said that the people of the country are facing many issues, which need to be resolved.

The former Union Minister said, in many countries the expenditure on education is between 9-1 percent of the GDP, whereas in our country it is less than four percent. He alleged that the unemployment rate between the age group of 25 to 30 years is 46 percent and between the age group of 20 to 30 years it is 29 percent.
