Panaji, Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Saturday said that considering the kind of training opportunities provided in the state, Goan students can be a part of space missions in future.

During a virtual interaction with 60,000 students from various schools, Sawant said that as a part of the Centre's skill programme, the state government is working to ensure that students excel in research, innovation and information technology sectors. Do it.

“I sometimes wonder why Goan students cannot be a part of space missions in the future, given the skills available in the state,” the Chief Minister said.

He was speaking on the topic 'Career Guidance and Protection from Cyber ​​Crime'.

Sawant further said that some components of Chandrayaan-3 were manufactured by Goa-based company Kineco Group.

Emphasizing on skill development, he said that there are 12 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in Goa which offer 14-15 different courses.

Urging teachers to inform parents about these opportunities, Sawant said students should be aware of the career opportunities and competitive exams of Goa Public Service Commission, Staff Selection Commission and UPSC.
