The program of the 25-year-old non-profit organization called 'Vattikuti Explorers' seeks to promote a culture of innovation and exploration in modern medicine and surgery by creating a multi-country network of medical students who can share their experiences with peers. , it said in a statement.

'Explorers' get access to world-renowned medical experts in their field who, as mentors, will continue to guide and support them throughout their early careers.

The first opportunity to learn in person is for eight 'Explorers' to attend a three-day immersion program at the Orsi Academy at the Fair in Belgium from 19-21 August.

Another such occasion is Vattikuti Foundation's KS International Innovation Awards and 'Humans at the Cutting Edge of Robotic Surgery' symposium in Jaipur in February next year.

“The event will feature presentations from global experts in robotic surgery. The inventors will compete in a competition to solve a health care issue, and the top finalists will present their findings at the symposium,” the foundation said.

Entries for the now extended '2024 KS International Innovation Awards' are open till July 15.

"'Vattikuti Explorers' go beyond traditional medical education through hands-on training, exposure to advanced surgical technologies and the opportunity to connect with leading innovators from various medical fields," said Dr. Mahendra Bhandari, CEO of Vattikuti Foundation.

The top winners of the competition, 'Vattikutty Innovators Challenge 2024' will stand a chance to win cash prizes by showcasing their cognitive and non-cognitive skills.
