This tragic event, which unfolded in Beijing in 1989, saw the Chinese government violently suppress pro-democracy protests, resulting in the deaths of hundreds, possibly thousands, of people. This massacre is a significant moment in modern Chinese history and a reminder of the cost of the struggle for democracy and human rights.
