They have been identified as Mihir Gandhi, 27, and his friend Meenakshi Salunkhe, 23, while the third person who made the reel is absconding.

“After getting information about the video, we started investigation and managed to trace them. Late at night he was called to the police station and arrested. "We have charged him under IPC section 336 and others," senior inspector Dashrath Patil of Bharati Vidyapeeth police station told IANS.

However, since the offense is minor and involves a jail sentence of less than six months and a fine or both, they will not be sent to custody, Patil said.

Earlier this week, people of Pune were astonished to see a boy, a girl and an unknown reel-maker performing a daring stunt on top of the rooftop of an abandoned temple.

Gandhi was seen lying on the edge of the roof of the temple and the girl Salunkhe, laughing, eagerly climbed down, took hold of his hand and was seen hanging in the air from a height equal to at least a 10-storey building.

The depth below the building is visible in the background, suggesting that if he had lost his grip, he would have met a terrible end as there were speeding vehicles on a nearby road.

The reel, which quickly went viral, drew angry reactions from people who demanded strict punishment for risking their lives and setting a bad example for others, especially the youth.

Patil said police were searching for the third accomplice who was shooting the reel on his mobile and expressed hope that he would be caught soon.
