New Delhi: Namo India's Ghaziabad station has emerged as one of the busiest stations among the eight currently operating stations, it said in a statement on Monday.

Namo Bharat train services have recently crossed a significant milestone, transporting more than one million passengers since its inauguration. It is currently operational on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor on a distance of 34 km between Sahibabad and Modinagar North, the statement said.

"Out of the eight stations on the route, Ghaziabad station has emerged as the busiest station, where most of the passengers travel between Ghaziabad and Modinagar North. This popularity can be attributed to the presence of several educational institutions including engineering colleges and coaching centres. Which provide services to passengers on a large scale.The student population who are the highest users of NaMo India,” I said.

The onset of summer has seen an increase in ridership among working professionals and senior citizens as well.

The lost property office located at Ghaziabad station has returned many items including cash, documents, ID cards, lunch boxes and keys since its inception on October 23, which has become popular among passengers. The retrieved item details are available on the RRTS (regional rapid transit system) Connect application as well as the RRTS website, it said.

Since its inception, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has given priority to passenger convenience in every aspect of the project.Passengers have the facility to book tickets from various ticketing options including digital QR code-based tickets through RRTS Connect mobile application and paper. 'One-tap' or QR code-based tickets with origin-destination selection, it said.

Additionally, passengers can generate paper QR codes through UPI, Nation Common Mobility Card (NCMC), debit-credit cards and bank notes from tick vending machines (TVMs) installed at stations, the statement said.

With a focus on accessibility and inclusivity, each Namo Bharat train consists of six coaches, a standard coach with 72 seats and a premium coach with 62 seats. A dedicated compartment next to the premium coach is reserved for women, while seats are also allotted for individuals.Other coaches include disability and senior citizens.

It said that to ensure passenger assistance and convenience, each Namo Bharat train is staffed by a trained attendant.

RRTS stations are equipped with modern amenities for a convenient and comfortable travel experience, including drinking water and toilets both in paid and unpaid areas. Notably, ladies lavatories feature diaper changing stations for passengers traveling with infants, the statement said.

It said that as construction on the remaining sections of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor is progressing rapidly, NCRTC remains steadfast in its commitment to provide a world-class transport system by the estimated operational deadline of June 2025.
