The ten arrested have been identified as Hussanpreet Singh, Gulab Singh Amritpal Singh, Baljinder Singh, Bobby, Lovepreet Singh, Amritpal Singh, Sajan Sukhchain Singh and Harmesh Singh.

According to the information, Gangster Raju is the leader of an organized criminal gang operating in Majha area mainly in Tarn Taran, Amritsar and Amritsar districts. All the arrested accused were involved in criminal activities.

In September 2023, the gang was involved in an attempt to rob a bank in Dhotiya village of Tarn Taran, in which a police officer was seriously injured in the firing by the accused. On April 16, 2024, Raju's associates conspired to escape from the Civil Hospital, where he was undergoing treatment.

DGP Yadav said that following the input, AGTF Punjab headed by ADGP Promod Ban mobilized 12 police teams under the supervision of AIG Sandeep Goyal to track down Gangster Raj and his gang members.
