Leaders of the G7 countries—US President Joe Biden, United Kingdom Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, and French President Emmanuel Macron— -The EU and its external guests, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pope Francis and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, posed for a group photo at the gathering in Italy.

In a post on X, PM Modi also shared a family photo and wrote, "With world leaders at the @G7 summit in Italy."

Earlier, PM Modi reached Apulia, Italy late on Thursday night to attend the summit. He was welcomed by Italian PM Giorgia Meloni, who invited India as an 'outreach nation' to the G7 summit.He reiterated India's commitment to advocate for the well-being of the Global South, emphasizing the importance of Africa in global affairs.

He also underlined India's dedication to fostering closer ties with Africa, citing the historic moment when the African Union became a permanent member of the G20 during India's chairmanship.

PM Modi addressed the G7 outreach session on AI and energy, Africa and the Mediterranean and spoke on a variety of topics including the transformative role of technology in human progress.

"Spoken at the G7 Outreach Session on AI and Energy, Africa and the Mediterranean. Highlighted a wide range of topics, in particular, the wide-scale use of technology for human progress.The rise of technology in various aspects of human life has also confirmed the importance of cyber security.

"Talked about how India is leveraging AI for its development journey. It is important that AI remains transparent, safe, accessible and accountable," PM Modi said in a post on Twitter.

Additionally, PM Modi highlighted the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign, which aims to promote environmental sustainability and make the planet more livable for future generations.

“As far as energy is concerned, India's approach is based on availability, access, affordability and acceptability. We are working to meet our COP commitments before the stipulated time period.India is working to usher in a green era based on principles. Mission Life also highlighted the “Ek Ped Ma Ke Naam” campaign to make our planet more sustainable.

Notably, India participated in the Group of Seven (G7) summit as an outreach country.

The summit is taking place from June 13-15 at the luxurious Borgo Egnazia resort in the Apulia region of Italy.

This is PM Modi's first foreign trip after assuming power for the third consecutive time.
