Kathmandu [Nepal], Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has promised to consider the possibility of a visit to Nepal after attending the G7 summit in Italy.

On reaching Kathmandu after attending PM Modi's swearing-in ceremony in Delhi, Dahal said in a press briefing on Monday that he has invited PM Modi to visit Nepal.

He said, "I invited Shri (Narendra) Modi to visit Nepal. He responded positively and promised to visit at an appropriate time. He also said that he has to attend the G7 summit to be held in Italy.“That he can come to Nepal after returning from the summit.”

Notably, the G7 summit will be held in Italy on June 13-15, 2024. The event will bring together the leaders of the seven member states as well as the President of the European Council and the President of the European Commission. European Union.

Dahal had a brief meeting with PM Modi after the swearing-in ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday evening.On the invitation of the Indian PM, Dahal had gone to Delhi on Sunday to attend the swearing-in ceremony of his Indian counterpart.

During the meeting, Dahal congratulated PM Modi and conveyed his optimism about the trajectory of the long-standing friendship between the two countries.

We discussed ways to further enhance Nepal-India relations.I am confident that under his leadership our multifaceted relations with India will prosper." Nepal's Prime Minister posted on X.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also met Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' during his two-day visit to Nepal.

Sharing details about his meeting with Jaishankar, Dahal said issues of borders and revival of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) were discussed with the external affairs minister.

Nepal PM said, "While holding delegation-level talks with Shri (S Jaishankar), I raised topics ranging from revival of SAARC to border issues and other trade-related issues and mechanisms that exist between the two countries.I focused on reviving them." During the meeting yesterday (June 9) and during the conversation with Shri (S) Jaishankar this morning (June 10) I initiated all mechanisms and talks to resolve all the issues. There has been a positive response from the Prime Minister as well as the Foreign Minister in this regard that SAARC should be revived and talks should be started.

The two leaders discussed ways to advance development initiatives in various sectors in Nepal, benefiting the people of both countries."

Dahal returned home on Monday evening after completing his two-day visit to India. On Sunday, he flew to the Indian capital city to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.Speaker of the House of Representatives Dev Raj Ghimire, Speaker of the National Assembly Narayan Prasad Dahal, cabinet ministers and heads of security bodies and other high-ranking government officials welcomed Dahal at the Tribhuvan International Airport.
