New Delhi: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said the youth of the country have become completely demoralized due to unemployment and claimed that their future lies in the "President" due to the "anti-education mentality" of the BJP.

The former Congress chief's comments come on a media report which claimed that the salaries of engineers graduating from the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) in 2024 have declined due to a slowdown in hiring.

"Even the country's most prestigious institutions like the IITs are now bearing the brunt of the economic recession. The continuous decline in placements from the IITs and decline in the annual packages is further worsening the condition of the youth, who are facing the peak of unemployment. ,” Gandhi said in a post in Hindi on his WhatsApp channel.

The Congress leader claimed that 19% students could not get campus placement in 2022 and the same rate doubled to 38% this year.

“When this is the condition of the most famous and prestigious educational institutions of the country, then what will be the plight of other institutions!” Gandhi said.

“The youth today are completely demoralized by unemployment – parents are spending lakhs to get professional education, while students are forced to study by taking loans at high interest rates. Then not getting a job or a normal income is their financial condition. is causing a decline," he added.

Gandhi said this is a result of the "anti-education" mentality of the BJP, due to which the future of the bright youth of this country lies in the "President".

Does the Modi government have any plan to free the hardworking youth of India from this crisis? He asked.

Gandhi said the opposition will continue to raise the voice of the youth with all its might and hold the government responsible for this "injustice".
