Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], Karnataka Chief Minister K Siddaramaiah on Friday paid a surprise visit to Morarji Desai Residential School in Chamarajpet, Bangaluru and emphasized that more necessary infrastructure will be provided to residential schools in the state.

He also interacted with students of Morarji Desai Residential School in Chamarajpet, Bengaluru, after the SCSP/TSP State Development Council meeting.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, addressing the media, emphasized that more necessary infrastructure will be provided to the residential schools in the state. He also stated that residential schools are of better quality compared to other schools.

"There are 833 residential schools in the state and well-equipped buildings for all residential schools are being constructed in phases. We are converting all Ashram schools into residential schools," Siddaramaiah said.

He also mentioned that apart from providing free meals and accommodation to the students of these schools, they also offer training in English, science and mathematics.

The Chief Minister also informed that he had eaten and sambar with the students.

He took over a government school in Chamarajpet and it became Morarji Desai Residential School. Currently, there are 218 students admitted here.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar have called a meeting with party officials and workers on July 6, according to an official statement on Thursday.

According to an official statement, "Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and KPCC President and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar will meet party workers and functionaries at the party office on Queens Road between 3 pm and 5 pm on July 6 to address their problems.

"Party workers and officials can call the provided mobile number to register for the meeting. The meeting will be held on a first-come, first-served basis," he said. The meeting is strictly for party workers and officials and will not win. "It will not be open to anyone else, including party MPs," said the press release from Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar's office.
