New Delhi: The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB), which oversees directors of state-owned banks and financial institutions, on Monday recommended promotion of five chief general managers to the post of executive directors in various banks.

FSIB interviewed 57 candidates between June 13-17 to recommend suitable names for executive directors (EDs) in public sector banks (PSBs).

Considering their performance at the interface, their overall experience and the existing parameters, the bureau has recommended five names for the empanelment of the ED for the year 2024-25, FSIB said in a statement.

These succeeding chief general managers (CGMs) are Beena Waheed (Union Bank of India), Rajeev (Punjab National Bank), SK Majumdar (Canara Bank), D Surendran (Canara Bank) and Amit Kumar Srivastava (Punjab National Bank).

"The names are in the order of merit. This panel will be conducted in the financial year 2024-25, subject to the availability of vacancies in the panel year 2024-25," it said.

The final decision on the recommendation of the FSIB will be taken by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

FSIB is headed by Bhanu Pratap Sharma, former secretary of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

Other members of Headhunter are former Chairman and Managing Director of erstwhile Oriental Bank of Commerce Animesh Chauhan, former RBI Executive Director Deepak Singhal and former MD of ING Vysya Bank Shailendra Bhandari.
