All eyes are on the prestigious Kannauj seat from where Samajwadi Party (SP President Akhilesh Yadav) is contesting.

Another prominent candidate in the fray this round is Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni, who is contesting from Lakhimpur Kheri.

Voting will be held in Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Dhaurahara, Sitapur Hardoi, Misrikh, Unnao, Farrukhabad, Etawah (SC), Kannauj, Kanpur, Akbarpur and Bahraich.

There are five reserved seats in this phase – Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Misrikh, Etawah and Bahraich. A total of 130 candidates are in the fray in this phase.According to Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa, overall, there are 1.31 crore male voters and 1.15 crore female voters and 94 third gender voters in 1 constituency.

A total of 130 candidates are contesting in this phase, out of which the maximum is one candidate from Kannauj seat.

Of the 13 electoral seats, Kannauj will see a contest between SP chief and sitting BJP MP Subrata Pathak, while in Unnao, sitting BJP M Sakshi Maharaj is pitted against former SP MP Annu Tandon.

Tandon had contested the elections as a Congress candidate against Sakshi Maharaj in 2014 and 2019, but lost both times. He won the Unnao Lok Sabha seat on Congress ticket in 2009.Of the 13 parliamentary constituencies where voting is to be held in the fourth phase, BJP has expressed confidence in 11 sitting MPs by giving them tickets, while it has fielded new candidates Ramesh Awasthi from Kanpur and Anand Kumar from Bahraich (SC) seat.

In India Block, SP has fielded its candidates on 11 Lok Sabha seats in this phase, while on two seats
(Alok Mishra) and Sitapur (Rakesh Rathore) – Congress candidates are in the fray.

Four candidates of BJP -
(Lakhimpur Kheri), Rekh Verma (Dhaurhara), Mukesh Rajput (Farrukhabad) and Devendra Singh Bhol (Akbarpur).
-Trick, while Rajesh Verma is eyeing the fifth seat from Sitapur.

Ashok Kumar Rawat and Ram Shankar Katheria are eyeing a fourth term from Misrikh (SC) and Etawah (SC) respectively. Jai Prakash, sitting MP from Hardoi (SC), Sakshi Maharaj, outgoing MP from Unnao, is seeking her sixth term in the Lok Sabha.

Apart from the Lok Sabha, by-election will also be held on Monday at Dadraul Assembly seat in Shahjahanpur district.A total of 10 candidates, including two female contestants, are in the fray.

There are 3.73 lakh registered voters in the assembly constituency, which includes two lakh males and 1.73 lakh females as well as 52 third gender voters. There are 438 polling stations out of a total of 361 polling stations, of which 65 are highly sensitive.
