Balasore (Odisha) Four members of a family, including a 50-year-old woman, were injured in a leopard attack in Odisha's Balasore district on Saturday. Police gave this information.

The incident took place in Gad village of Khaira area near Kupari village when all four were working in a field.

The animal suddenly came out of the bush and pounced on the woman. When three other people came to save him, the leopard attacked them too and started running back from where it had come.

Police said all the injured were admitted to Khaira Hospital, but the woman was shifted to Bhadrakh District Headquarters Hospital for better treatment.

Soro forest (wildlife) range officer Manoranjan Nayak said a forest department team was conducting a search operation in the area to trace the leopard.

He said that a large number of local people also gathered in the area to search for the tiger, which made the work of the forest department personnel difficult.
