Rae Bareli (UP): Four people were killed and several injured on Friday when their car collided with a culvert and hit a roadside tree, police said.
According to the police, the incident took place at around 3 am in the morning near Malin Purva village of Mill Area police station area, when the victims were returning from Fursatganj in Amethi after attending a wedding procession.
Police station in-charge Sanjay Singh said that their car, a Scorpio, hit a culvert and then hit a tree on the roadside, injuring everyone in the car.
The victims were taken to the hospital where doctors declared four of them – Pankaj Pal (30), Raghavendra Yadav (50), Deepak Pal (28) and Avadhesh Pal (45) dead.
He said that all four injured are undergoing treatment.
He said that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem and further investigation is underway.
