Sukma: Four Naxalites, one of whom had a bounty of Rs 1 lakh on his head, surrendered before security forces in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district on Thursday, police said.

He told that one of them is a woman.

The Naxalites surrendered before the police and senior Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officials, citing the atrocities committed by the Maoists on tribals and their "inhuman and hollow" ideology as the reason for their frustration, an official said.

"They were also influenced by the state government's Naxal eradication policy and Sukma Police's rehabilitation campaign 'Puna Narkom' (a word coined in the local Gondi dialect, meaning a new dawn or a new beginning)," he said.

Among the surrendered Naxalites, Dirdo Hidma, who had a bounty of Rs 1 lakh on his head, was the president of banned Maoist outfit Tetemadugu Revolutionary Party Committee (RPC) Chetna Natya Mandali (CNM), the official said.

He said, Sodhi was a member of Arlampalli Panchayat Revolutionary Mahila Adivasi Sangathan (KAMS).

He said the two other Naxalites were lower level cadres.

The officer said that the surrendered Naxalites will get facilities as per the surrender and rehabilitation policy of the state government.
