Latehar (Jharkhand), Four members of CPI (Maoist) breakaway group Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad (JJMP) were arrested with arms and ammunition in Latehar district, a police officer said on Monday.

He said that on Sunday, Maoists were arrested during a vehicle checking operation in Chhipadohar police station area, about 160 km from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand.

Barwadih Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Venkatesh Prasad said in a press conference on Monday that Naxalites are engaged in extortion.

The arrested Maoists have been identified as Bitan Lohra, Lakhan Lohra, Guddu alias Machhinder Lohra and Birendra Singh. Police seized two country-made pistols, eight cartridges, a mobile phone and three motorcycles from them.
