Shillong: Four bodies were found on Saturday in a remote village in Meghalaya's East Jaintia Hills district.

Four bodies with their hands and feet tied and cut marks on their necks were found in a forest on the outskirts of Umpleng village, he said.

Superintendent of Police Giri Prasad said, "The bodies were found by workers on Saturday morning. We are investigating the incident."

“We suspect that the victims were from outside the state, but are not sure until verification is completed,” the SP said.

The SP said the police were analyzing whether the crime was committed at the spot itself or somewhere else and then the bodies were dumped in Umpleng.
