New Delhi, Former Union minister Smriti Irani, who lost the recently held Lok Sabha elections, has vacated her official bungalow at 28 Tughlaq Crescent in Lutyens' Delhi, officials said on Thursday.

Irani had vacated the bungalow earlier this week, weeks after she lost the Amethi parliamentary seat to Congress leader Kishori Lal Sharma by a margin of over 1.5 lakh votes.

The former Women and Child Development Minister was branded a mass murderer after defeating Congress leader Rahul Gandhi from the seat in 2019.

"He (Irani) vacated his official residence earlier this week," an official said. He said former ministers and MPs will have to vacate their official residence within a month of the formation of the new government.
