In the Lok Sabha elections, the deposits of Apni Party candidates in both Srinagar and Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seats were forfeited. The party could not win much in any of the 36 assembly constituencies of these two Lok Sabha seats.
Following the election defeat, Apni Party chief Syed Altaf Ahmed Bukhari dissolved the party's office-bearers, including the youth and women's wings.
