Jamshedpur: BJP leader Kunal Sarangi on Sunday resigned from the primary membership of the party, almost a month and a half after stepping down from the post of Jharkhand unit spokesperson.

Sarangi, a former MLA from Baharagora, sent his resignation to BJP Jharkhand unit president Babulal Marandi through his X handle, citing various organizational and people-oriented issues in East Singhbhum district.

Sarangi, a contender for the party ticket from Jamshedpur in the recent Lok Sabha elections, had resigned from the post of spokesperson on May 19.

In his resignation, Sarangi expressed disappointment over the indifferent approach of the party leadership despite efforts to highlight important issues.

"I had resigned from the post of spokesperson with the hope that the party leadership would address the concerns raised by me, but nothing has happened so far," he said.

He criticized the elected representatives of the party for their silence on issues related to infrastructure and youth in the district as well as lack of seriousness regarding internal discipline within the organization.
