Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh is an accused in this case and is currently on bail.

A division bench of Justices N R Borkar and Somashekhar Sundaresan on Wednesday issued notice to the Central Bureau of Investigation, which is probing the case, and sought its response while fixing the hearing for June 14.

In his handwritten petition, Waze said the pardon granted to him when he turned government witness was not implemented "in letter and spirit".

Vaze, once known as an encounter specialist, said that his career as a high-performing police officer remained spotless but due to "some inappropriate circumstances" he was placed under suspension for a long time.

"Subsequently, in order to retain my reinstatement, I had to succumb to pressure from Deshmukh, who was then the Home Minister of Maharashtra, and this pressure essentially forced me to participate in the crime," the petition said. inspired."

Vaze said, although he has cooperated in the investigation and made full disclosure of the circumstances relating to the case to the best of his knowledge, he is still lodged in Taloja Central Jail in Navi Mumbai.

The CBI registered a corruption case against Deshmukh following allegations by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh that the NCP leader directed police officers to collect Rs 100 crore per month from restaurants and bars in Mumbai after becoming home minister. Was.

Waze is also an accused in the money laundering case being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate as well as in the Antilia bomb case and the murder of Thana businessman Mansukh Hiran. The former policeman was arrested by the NIA in March 2021 in the Antili bomb case and has been behind bars since then.
