Providence [Guyana], India captain Rohit Sharma does not believe stalwart batsman Virat Kohli's form is a "problem" and feels the intention is there and he could feature in the T20 World Cup final against South Africa.

After enjoying a purple spell with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Kohli has been searching for runs with his bat during the ongoing edition of the showpiece event.

In seven matches, the experienced batsman has scored 75 runs at an average of 10.71. It seemed like the semi-final against England was the perfect stage to respond and find their form heading into the final.

He put the ball into the stands over mid-wicket, hinting at a possible prolonged stay in the box. But Kohli allowed Reece Topley to respond by clipping leg-stump after the Indian tried to push him towards the boundary.

Despite Kohli's disappointing season, the Indian captain is not worried about Kohli's form and backed his compatriot to steal the show in the final.

"He (Kohli) is a quality player. Any player can go through that. We understand his class and we understand his importance in all these big games. Form is never a problem. When you have played cricket for 15 years, His form is never It's a problem. He looks good, the intention is there, he is probably saving for the final Of course (supporting Kohli for the final)," Rohit said at the post-match presentation.

Haunted by memories of the 2022 World Cup semi-final, India stormed into the final with a comprehensive 68-run victory.

The spin duo of Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav ran rampant and made quick work of the Three Lions, restricting them to 103 in 16.4 overs during the chase of 172.

Axar cleared the opening order and starred in his influential 3/23 spell. Kuldeep provided ideal support as he defended the middle order and finished with figures of 3/19.

Rohit believes the mantra to emerge triumphant in the final would be to play good cricket against the unbeaten Proteas.

"We have been very calm as a team. We understand the occasion (the final). Keeping your composure helps you make good decisions. That will help us get through the game. You have to play good cricket. That's what we want to do in "Go to give our best, that's all I can say. The team is in good shape, they are playing well. The only thing I can hope for is to put up another good show in the final,” Rohit added.

India and South Africa will meet in the final on Saturday at the Kensington Oval, Barbados.
