Five people have been arrested in connection with the incident that took place on June 5 at Motagi Bar and Restaurant in Shahpur city.
The deceased was identified as Mahesh Kankatti, forest officer of Shahpur.
The arrested accused have been identified as Raju, Rekhu Naik, Tara Singh, Narsingh and Prakash.
Went to Kanakatti restaurant, where drunkards were shouting and creating ruckus.
As soon as Kanakatti asked the drunkards to lower their voices, an argument broke out, during which they attacked him with a wooden log and kicked him.
When Mahesh became unconscious, the accused fled from the spot.
Later, Mahesh succumbed to his injuries.
After examining the CCTV footage, the police identified the accused and arrested them.
