This arrangement, which will make the journey of pilgrims more comfortable, has been facilitated by the Consulate General of India in Jeddah in coordination with the concerned Saudi authorities.

Ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia Suhail Ajaz Khan and Consul General Shahid Alam, along with Vice Chairman of Saudi Arabian Railways Al Harb and other officials of the Ministry of Haj and Ministry of Transport, escorted the Indian Haj pilgrims from Jeddah Airport to Mecca. Such a journey in high speed train on Sunday.

With the top speed of the train being 300 km per hour, the travel time from Jeddah to Mecca will also be significantly reduced.

It is estimated that around 32,000 Indian Haj pilgrims will use the special service this year.

The Indian Haj Mission – the largest operation of its kind conducted by the Government of India outside the country's borders, has been closely coordinated with the relevant Saudi authorities to make the new initiative a success.
