This recovery was made on Thursday morning during inspection under the leadership of Food Safety Department Additional Commissioner Panka Ojha.

Ojha said, "Chemicals were kept among the stacks of baskets of papaya and mango and were used to ripen them. Small packets of these chemicals were seen at different places among the fruits. Moreover, There was also a large quantity of raw bananas in the gas." Chambers were made in some shops. These bananas were also being ripened using chemicals.

Ojha said that on the instructions of Food Safety and Drug Control Commissioner Iqbal Khan, the food safety team inspected the shops, firms and warehouses of fruit sellers.

Challans were issued against four traders and fruit samples were collected from their shops and sent to the Central Food Laboratory, Jaipur for testing. Officials said further action would be taken based on the lab report.
