Sukma, Five Naxalites surrendered before security forces in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday.

Two of them had a reward of Rs 3 lakh on their heads.

The Naxals surrendered before the police and senior Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officials, citing frustration over the atrocities committed by Maoists on tribals and the "inhuman and hollow" Maoist ideology, an official said.

He was also "impressed" by the state government's anti-Naxalism policy and the Sukma police's rehabilitation campaign 'Puna Narkom' ('New Dawn' in Gondi language), he said.

Karatam Sukka alias Hadma, who was among those who surrendered, had a bounty of Rs 2 lakh on his head.

There was a reward of one lakh rupees on the head of Siam Badr.

Sindurguda Revolutionary Party Committee member Madakam Hadma surrendered with a firearm, the official said.

He said that the surrendered Naxalites will get benefits as per the surrender and rehabilitation policy of the state government.
