Thane: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday said a case has been registered against five civic officials in Maharashtra's Thane city for preparing fake documents to implicate a person in a false case.

Inspector Vijay Kawale said the Thane unit of the ACB on Friday registered a first information report against five Thane Municipal Corporation employees under relevant provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act and other Acts.

He said the accused officials allegedly forged and prepared fake documents and produced them in court to implicate a person in false cases for financial gain.

The matter is being investigated and no arrests have been made so far, the officer said.
