New Delhi: A missing one-year-old boy was rescued as a man, his wife and three other women were arrested in an alleged child trafficking case, police said on Friday.

The police team arrested the couple who had a child from Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. The boy was reunited with his family, he said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Jimmy Chiram said, "On July 8, information was received at Sultanpuri police station about a missing child from Kanjhawala Road. An FIR was registered on the statement of the mother and further investigation was conducted."

The team analyzed the CCTV footage and identified a woman who had kidnapped the child. The officer said that he was caught from Krishna Vihar area.

The DCP said the child was with several people before being sold to a couple from Vrindavan for Rs 3.30 lakh.

Husband Arpit told police during interrogation that the couple wanted a child and they made the purchase through a woman who worked as an intermediary, the DCP said. Police said that all the accused have been arrested.
