Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed that the funds for the first quarter of the upcoming financial year should be sent to the pension of senior citizens, destitute women, disabled persons and persons affected by leprosy. Bank accounts of eligible persons by 30th June.

He emphasized that all the eligible persons of the state should get the benefits of these pension schemes and new beneficiaries should be added by running a campaign.

In an important meeting on Saturday, the Chief Minister reviewed the pension schemes and said that at present Rs 1000 is being directly transferred every month to the bank accounts of 55.68 lakh elderly people, 33.54 lakh destitute women and 10.40 lakh disabled people.

Similarly, monthly pension of Rs 3000 is being provided to 11,551 leprosy patients.

He also instructed the departmental officers to conduct annual verification of the current pension beneficiaries as per rules and ensure that the first quarterly installment of the current financial year is made available by June 30.
