Kolkata: Three people have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the firing incident at the residence of a businessman here. Police gave this information on Friday.
The incident took place on Thursday evening when Debashish Dey, a businessman living on the eighth floor of a high-rise building in Rabindra Sarobar area in southern Kolkata, opened the door and was attacked by three men, a senior official said.
As soon as the businessman resisted them, one of the three accused opened fire, which missed the businessman, the officer said.
Dey's wife claimed that the trio left the place waving guns because their neighbors were afraid of following them.
"Three people have been arrested in connection with the attack on the businessman and we are investigating the motive," the officer said.
He told that the accused are being interrogated at Tollygunge police station.
