AHMEDABAD: Gujarat Police has arrested another partner of Rajkot-based TRP Game Zone, where 27 people died in a massive fire last week, an official said on Tuesday.

Banaskantha Superintendent of Police Akshay Makwana said Dhawal Corporation owner Dhawal Thakkar, who ran TRP Game Zone along with five partners of Raceway Enterprises, was arrested from Abu Roa in neighboring Rajasthan.

Along with this, four people have been arrested so far in connection with the FIR incident that took place in the Game Zone on Saturday.



"Thakkar was arrested from Abu Road in a joint operation conducted by Rajkot and Banaskantha police last night," Makwana said.



The police had earlier arrested Raceway Enterprises partners Yuvrajsingh Solanki and Rahul Rathore and Game Zone manager Nitin Jain. A Rajkot court sent him to 14-day police custody on Monday.



Police have registered an FIR against six people - Thakkar, Solanki Rathod and Raceway Enterprises partners Ashoksinh Jadeja, Kiritsinh Jadeja and Prakashchand Hiran - in connection with the fire incident.



He has been booked under Indian Penal Code sections 304 (culpable homicide), 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), 33 (causing hurt by such act as to endanger the life or personal safety of others) and 338 (causing grievous hurt). A case has been registered under. Doing any act to any person which endangers his life or personal safety) and 114 (any person present at the commission of an offence).



The state government has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the incident and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh to the kin of each deceased.

The central government has also announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs 2 lakh to the next of kin of each deceased person.
