New Delhi: A fire broke out in a three-storey building in the East of Kailash area here on Thursday morning, officials said.

According to Delhi Fire Service officials, the fire on the second and third floors of the building was reported at 5.50 am and eight fire tenders were pressed into service.

He said that a woman was rescued from the third floor. The rest of the people came out of the building immediately after the fire broke out.

When the work of extinguishing the fire was going on, smoke started coming out from the building. DFS officials said the fire was brought under control within two hours.

According to a police officer, no one was injured in the incident.

Three brothers and their families live in a three-storey building.

"It is suspected that the fire started due to short circuit in the AC on the second floor," the officer said. Investigation is going on.
