Thane, A fire broke out in a plastic products manufacturing factory in Thane district of Maharashtra on Friday afternoon and no one was injured in the incident. The officers provided this information.

A police officer said that the fire broke out at around 3 pm in the factory located in Kalam village on Mumbai-Agra road in Shahpur taluka.

Firefighting operations are underway and water tankers have been pressed into service, an official of the District Disaster Management Cell said.

According to officials, smoke spread in the area and flames could be seen from a long distance.

He said that the cause of the fire has not been known yet.
