Days after a massive fire broke out at the Ghazipur garbage site in east Delhi, a fire broke out at the Bandhwari landfill site in Gurugram on the outskirts of the national capital on Tuesday.

The fire broke out around 5:15 am and more than a dozen fire tenders from Gurugram and Faridabad were pressed into service. Officials said that it could be brought under control after about 12 hours.

The waste collected by municipal bodies in Gurugram and Faridabad is dumped at the Bandhwari landfill site along the Gurugram-Faridabad road.

This site has turned into a huge heap of garbage. The waste collection agency was to set up a power plant at the site but the plan has not been completed yet.

Officials said that the fire department faced difficulties in extinguishing the fire because the fire was at a very high altitude.

He said that the fire was brought under control at around 5 pm.

O Naresh Kumar, Joint Commissioner (Swachh Bharat Mission), Gurugram Municipal Corporation, who was present at the spot, said, "During the summer season, fires occur due to extreme heat and strong winds. Methane gas emanating from dustbins and glass also catches fire." " For extreme heat."
