Gonda (UP), Police have registered an FIR against unidentified persons for allegedly raising anti-national slogans during the Barawafat procession, officials said on Thursday.

An alleged video of the incident surfaced on social media.

Citing the report filed, Additional Superintendent of Police (West) Radheshyam Rai said that on the evening of September 16, a procession of Baravafat was taken out in Paraspur town of the district.

He told that some youths participating in the procession started raising anti-national slogans.

Rai said that its video went viral on social media on Thursday, three days after the incident.

After this, Paraspur police station sub-inspector Virendra Kumar Srivastava registered a case against unknown youth.

Rai said that in the FIR registered, it has been said that the youth of Muslim community participating in the procession raised anti-national slogans and tried to disturb the peace and hurt Hindu religious sentiments.

It has been said in the FIR that his action has caused a lot of anger among the people of other communities.

He told that the police is trying to identify the youth on the basis of the video. The culprits will be arrested soon.
