New Delhi [India], Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh said on Tuesday that Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has been admitted to the hospital, adding that the latter is not fighting for herself, but is fighting for the water of the people of Delhi.

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi was admitted to hospital after her health condition deteriorated while she was on indefinite hunger strike against the Haryana government for not releasing 100 million gallons per day (MGD) of water, thus creating a water crisis in the national capital.

"Her blood sugar levels dropped to 43. Doctors suggested that she be admitted to the hospital before her condition worsened... She is admitted to LNJP Hospital. She has not eaten anything for the last 5 days. Her blood sugar levels Sugars have gone down, ketones are going up and blood pressure is going down... She is not fighting for herself, she was fighting for the people of Delhi, for water," Singh told ANI.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bharadwaj reported that Delhi minister Atishi's blood sugar level has dropped to 36, due to which the latter has been admitted to the hospital.

"Atishi's blood sugar level dropped to 36, so she was admitted to LNJP hospital," Bharadwaj posted on X.

Speaking to ANI, Bharadwaj said that the doctors are monitoring her vital signs and would then give her some suggestions.

"His blood sugar levels had been dropping since the evening. When we sent his blood sample, his sugar levels turned out to be 46. When we checked his sugar levels on a portable machine, his sugar levels turned out to be 36... "The doctors are checking his vital signs and only then they will give him suggestions," he said.

Atishi was admitted to the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) hospital in the national capital in the early hours of Tuesday.

Atishi's indefinite hunger strike entered its fifth day on Tuesday. She said Haryana is not releasing Delhi's fair share of water.

According to the AAP press release, a health checkup on the minister revealed that her blood pressure and sugar levels dropped drastically.

The speed with which Atishi's blood sugar and blood pressure have dropped has been described by doctors as dangerous, the AAP said.

Water Minister Atishi, who was on indefinite hunger strike to ensure water rights to 28 lakh Delhiites, has said that her indefinite hunger strike will continue till the Haryana government provides water rights to the inhabitants of Delhi and until the doors of Hathnikund Barrage are opened. said the AP.

The AAP has alleged that the neighboring state of Haryana is supplying 100 million gallons per day (MGD) less water every day, which has severely affected the lives of 28 lakh people in Delhi, adding to the problem of water scarcity.

The issue of water scarcity arose with the high temperatures and heat wave conditions in the national capital.

People of Delhi have been counting on water tankers to meet their daily water needs.

Amid rising temperatures, these scenes have become an everyday occurrence in many areas of the national capital since the start of the summer season this year.
