Bhubaneswar, Noting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set the context for the upcoming elections to the Lok Sabha and Odisha Assembly, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday launched a new slogan to counter the "Jodi Shankha" of the ruling BJD. Coined 'Duti Phula' (two flowers). Two Shells) Campaign.

BJD's election symbol is conch, while BJP's is lotus flower.

The slogan "Dooti phula bahut bhala" (two flowers means more good) was given by Pradhan, the BJD candidate from Sambalpur Lok Sabha seat, at an election rally in Athamallik.

Last week, BJD had released a video in which Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was asking people to vote for the party and displaying two conch shells - one for the Lok Sabha elections and the other for the Assembly elections.

Pradhan also showed two lotuses in the election rally on Monday and appealed to the people to vote on this election symbol.Initially, the BJD had coined the slogan "Jodi Shankha" to counter BJP leaders' call for a "double engine government".

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Pradhan said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made the party's stand clear in an interview that the BJP would fight the elections in the state on the issue of "Odia identity" (Odisha pride).

"The Prime Minister has set the context for the elections by giving the right signal that the identity and language of Odisha is under threat," Pradhan said.

He said, this election rally is not only about change but also about the pride and development of the state.

Reiterating Modi's statement, Pradhan said Odisha is rich in mineral and water resources besides fertile land and forest resources.Despite this, the state lagged behind other states in almost all areas, he claimed.

“Corruption is at its peak and everything is in disarray in the state,” he alleged.

Pradhan also made a strong attack on the BJD government, alleging that there is no proper system of governance in Odisha.

“Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is on a video and the remote of the video is in the hands of another person... Officials who take salaries from people's hard-earned money are now at the top. They need to be thrown out,” the Union minister said.Pradhan claimed that the winds of change are clearly visible in the entire state.

“The rocket has been damaged and can no longer be flown,” he said.
